Child Support Modification

Call us today for a free 30 minute consultation. Same Day Appointments are available.

Modification

Child support orders are not permanent and can be revisited or modified to fit changing life circumstances. If you feel like your child is in danger, then you can attempt to modify the orders to protect the child. Other reasons for modified child custody arrangements are:

  • The noncustodial parent is responsible for additional children
  • The noncustodial parent’s income has changed enough to alter child support (higher or lower)
  • The child’s medical insurance has changed
  • The child’s living arrangement has changed
  • There is a drastic change in circumstances since the child support order

Modifications are typically not granted unless one of the following is true:

  • The child is in danger
  • At least 3 years have passed since the previous child support order.
  • The change in child support would be a difference greater than either 20% or $100

For more details or if you have any questions about what may qualify for child support modification, please contact us for a free 30 minute consultation.

Please note that if you feel your child is in danger you should act immediately and can email Laura Carpenter at netlawyer@justice.com if necessary.
